The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) predicts the construction industry will require almost a quarter of a million extra workers by 2019. Recent research by a well-known supplier of tools and equipment found that plumbing was the most common job commissioned by UK homeowners, with 75 per cent saying that these were jobs for which they use skilled tradespeople. However, it was also revealed that a good plumber can be hard to find, with 27 per cent of people in the survey saying that they had found it difficult to find a reliable and competent plumber. So once they found one they hang on to them.

With this demonstrable demand for good plumbers, there are valuable profitable opportunities for qualified plumbers right now and an expected increase of around 8,000 jobs in the plumbing sector next year alone.
